Public Service Magnets are designed and tailored to prepare and young people who wish to pursue careers in criminology, fire, forensics, medicine, law and political science. There is strong focus on critical thinking, problem solving and communication, enabling students to see the connections between their classroom curriculum and the challenges of today’s world. These Magnets are ideal settings for future doctors, fire fighters, lawyers, police officers and other professions related to the Public Service field.

Program Capacity 2016-2017:
Sammy Lee Medical/Health Science Magnet offers a curriculum that focuses on the Life Science bodily systems (nervous, muscular, skeletal, digestive, circulatory, respiratory, and excretory)in all grade levels using activity-based instruction and enrichment opportunities with our medical organization affiliations.

Academic Competition Teams:
Children's Hospital of Los Angeles: Students participate in workshops lead by practicing doctors.
West Cost University: Students work with medical students to learn about various medical programs.
Advanced Placement (AP) Course Offerings:

Creative Brain: An after school enrichment program for students in kindergarten through fifth grades focusing on tutoring and music lessons.
