Communication Arts (journalism, radio-television broadcasting, theatre, video/film production, computers, digital arts and advertising) prepares students to acquire and accurately use information and communication technologies equipping them to effectively communicate orally, in writing, and through multimedia formats. Magnets infuse technology throughout the curriculum to create exciting and rigorous programs.

Program Capacity 2016-2017:
Stevenson's Leadership and Technology Magnet (LTM) is one of the few middle schools in the Boyle Heights area offering students a communication arts themed program. Students who choose to attend Stevenson LTM will have the opportunity to participate in projects designed to develop and enhance student leaders in the community. Student led projects will be focused on identifying needs in the community and problem-solving to propose viable solutions. Teachers will also integrate technology use both in the implementation of projects, as well as during class lessons and assignments. With the guidance of classroom teachers, students will learn to create and present their projects in community forums, building each year on their skills. Students will culminate from Stevenson LTM with the technology proficient skills they will need to be ready for success in high school as learners and leaders.
