Fine, Performing and Visual Arts Magnets provide specialized curriculum/intensive training in a specific area of interest. Whether the student shows signs of artistic ability or the potential for growth in a particular art, these Magnets provide highly rewarding learning experiences.

Each of our academic classes is infused with art projects that support and compliment our challenging academic curriculum. The Visual Arts Magnet students enjoy this combination of strong academics and the creative process. Additionally, during the first two years, they take one of our foundation classes each semester; as ninth graders, they study drawing and digital imaging/design; as tenth graders, they study sculpture and photography. During their junior and senior years, students take an advanced art class each semester. We also offer Advanced Placement Studio Art. The atmosphere created in our program encourages each student to become a part of the community. They thrive in this personal environment that provides individual attention to each student. They are also provided with engaging opportunities to participate in art-related internships, after school art classes, partnerships with art institutions, field trips, and student exhibitions.
