Program Description
The Liberal Arts Magnet theme provides programs that prepare students to be knowledgeable citizens of the 21st century and empower them to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. The programs are dedicated to the formation of knowledge in Humanities, Social Policy or World Languages areas or to utilize alternative pedagogies. Academic excellence and commitment to the values of diversity, community and collaboration provide the foundation in Liberal Arts Magnet schools.

Our teachers and students train with professional curators and docents at local museums. We implement Project Based Learning throughout the grade level curriculum. Our goal is to create a learning environment that nurtures collaboration, communication, creativity and problem solving skills to develop life long learners. We are a California Distinguished School.

Arroyo Seco Museum Science Magnet will become a learning community of academic excellence. Everyone will be motivated to learn in an engaging environment enhanced by a focus on museum science studies. All students will reach their full potential. This vision will be achieved in an atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation, collaboration, and communication.
Magnet Mission:
Arroyo Seco Museum Science Magnet exists to: * Educate students academically, socially, and emotionally * Prepare students to be productive citizens * Provide a safe and caring environment * Foster an experiential understanding of the world through museum science studies.
Academic/Career Pathways:
The majority of students that finish our academic program are accepted into a Magnet High School or SAS program (School for Advanced Studies), and take honors classes their freshman year. During the remainder of their high school years many go on to take Advance Placement classes.
