Community Partnerships:
We are fortunate to have UCLA's Generation Xchange (GenX) Program at our School. The mission of the program is to promote greater health and wellness outcomes for retired and senior-aged volunteers while simultaneously supporting greater academic achievement of youth in Los Angeles. The LA GenX Project places older volunteers into K-3rd grade elementary school classrooms to help improve reading and math skills. GenX is designed as a truly inter-generational program, providing benefit to each generation. GenX seeks to improve academic and behavioral outcomes, with particular attention to support for reading proficiency as successful trajectories have been shown to depend on learning to ready by 3rd grade.
